Poland takes active part in the Bologna Process. Thanks to the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) students can be fully mobile, and continue education in other countries.
  • Scholarships, Free Studies and Stipend: There are a number of scholarships available within the limits defined in bilateral agreements. They are financed either by the Polish or the foreign partner's government, often with the aim to enhance exchange within a specific field of study. The amount of a scholarship depends on the type of study undertaken. In addition, university scholarships are available for academic excellence.
  • Low costs of studying and living. Although Poland is going through a process of rapid economic development, the cost of living is still significantly lower than in most of the EU countries. A total amount of 200-400 Euros is enough to cover the basic cost of accommodation, food and transport. The cost of entertainment and participation in cultural events are also much lower than EU average.
  • For high level of security and personal safety. Poland is much safer than most of the European countries. Even the Nordic countries, considered as very safe, have much higher crime rate than Poland. It's perfectly safe in here for international students of all races, beliefs and origins.
  • Settlement Options - BLUE CARD :Professionals can apply for a Blue card once they find an employer. This is valid for 2+3 years and the person can work all over European Union. After 5 years you can apply for Permanent Residence option.

Medical University of Gdansk, Poland :

Medical University of Gdansk (MUG) is the largest medical university in northern Poland, located in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with an old town and beautiful sandy beaches. MUG educates nearly 6000 undergraduate and postgraduate students at four Faculties: Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy and The Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology. MUG offers various courses (Premedical Course, Pre-Health Course), Medicine Doctor Programme, Nursing Programme, Dietetics Programme and the Ph.D. Programmes, which are taught fully in English.
International students constitute almost 16% of MUG students and represent more than half of all international students in Gdansk. Most of them came from Sweden, Norway, India, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Canada, UK, USA, Iraq, Germany and Spain.
The MUG constantly modernizes its clinical and teaching facilities. In the end of 2011 the University Clinical Centre has been successfully modernized. Our main hospital - the MUG Invasive Medicine Centre is one of the most modern hospitals in Europe. New investment MUG Non-Invasive Medicine Centre started in September 2015. Together, this will be one of the largest and newest hospital complexes in Poland.
The dormitories are situated on campus, very close to the classroom buildings. The campus consists of 4 dormitories with space for 1000 students, the student club "Medyk", a grocery shop and a photocopy shop. There is also a canteen, which offers meals at student-friendly prices. All the dormitories are connected to the Internet.
The scientific excellence of the MUG was confirmed in 2012 when the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education recognized the Faculty of Pharmacy with Subfaculty of Laboratory Medicine as one of 6 Leading National Research Centre (KNOW).

    Orientation Week fee should be paid within 30 days since being accepted (exact date will be specified in Certification of Enrolment)

  • Tuition fee for each year should be paid in two installments:
    • first by 15th of October (or 15th of November - applies only to students applying for loans)
    • second by 15th of February

Students who make their payment by cheque should do it relatively early, because cashing a cheque can take up to five weeks.
